This was supposed to be a piccy of the bear, but it's a pretty shot of the meadow instead.

Pretty river, barfing camera, blahblah.
The Other Continental Divide!
One side drains to the Mackenzie, which drains into the Beaufort Sea in the Arctic Ocean. The other side drains to the Yukon, which drains into the Bering Sea in the Pacific. The Tanana is a tributary of the Yukon. Fairbanks, where we live now, is at the confluence of the Chena and the Tanana rivers. I can see the Tanana from the back of the hill we live on. The Chena is a wee bitty river that flows through town. People plant pretty flowers and put their best architecture on the waterfront, and the city is trying to revitalise the river area to be more tourist- and pedestrian- friendly. A good move, in my humble opinion, as the Chena is a very charming river!
We also enjoyed some wonderful wild berries here, at the cost of a blood donation to the local mosquito population.
Fat rabbits in a hotel room, blahblah.
Bridge.
In which I kiss my first fiberglass moose, as a fiberglass caribou looks on, appalled.
